Toxicity Reduction

Evaluation

Service Description: The ABS Toxicity Reduction Evaluation (TRE) Service is designed to identify wastewater or process streams and/or chemicals which could inhibit or kill the biological wastewater treatment system or cause failure NPDES permit for Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) limits.

Features: Unlike other companies, ABS uses the traditional TRE problem-solving approach applied to Toxicity Identification Evaluation (TIE) procedures and also for identifying inhibitors and toxicants to the biological treatment system. ABS has developed unique and specialized microbiological protocols for this purpose.

The ABS Toxicity Reduction Evaluation Service:

  • Identifies upstream toxicants and inhibitors

  • Impact on biological treatment

  • Impact on Whole Effluent Toxicity

  • Provides solutions using novel on-line monitors

Benefits: The TRE Service can result in improving removal efficiencies, capacity and avoiding potential NPDES permit violations.

The ABS Toxicity Reduction Evaluation Service has many benefits:

1) Biological and Whole Effluent Toxicity Testing.

2) Identifies toxicants or inhibitors.

3) TRE process ensures ongoing NPDES compliance

4) Provides solutions to problems.
